BLOODLINE
In this series, I explored the concept of women as life-givers. I took a step back from the immediate societal view of a female's nurturing, maternal, fertile nature and looked biologically. All necessary nutrients, oxygen and life support is provided through the mother-fetal blood circulatory system. From their heart to their placenta pumps the elements that manifest and carry the continuation of life. It is the transfusion of their blood that makes them crucial to life. Here, there is emphasis on their biological importance as an individual and not solely their societal role as mothers that crowns them as life-givers.

In Bloodline (2019), these women are connected in proximity, joined by their limbs and tied by blood. They are dressed in all white to signify their divinity and to allow the red that signifies their power to boldly stand out. In these photos there are hints of strength that ultimately state that alone, they are strong but in numbers, they are stronger. Together, they possess the power that moves life and it is only with them, that life continues.
